The Rocky View Development Officer (“DO”) reached out to us today.
The DO reviewed the file and advised that the Luxury Bed & Breakfast staycation Alberta application would be posted and distributed for comment. The comment period was a minimum of 2 weeks.
We do not foresee any issues, but we are reserved.

We received an e-mail indicating that all of our B&B Development Permit Application documentation is sufficient. Yay!

We anticipate the Distribution & Posting for comment will be mailed to local residents and available on the web page: https://www.Rockyview.ca/approved-development-permits by the end of the day;
No earlier than Tuesday, September 19th, 2023.  Once posted, comments can be made for a period of up to three weeks. Yay!

Our Work Continues in preparation to create the Policy and Procedures required:

Emergency & Fire Plan, AHS Food Services, AHS Aquatic, and we are exploring the possibility of a license with the AGLC.  A lot of effort goes into opening a Calgary staycation with activities that people are interested in.

Researching Calgary Wellness B&B resorts and Bed & Breakfast regulatory requirements, we have a lot to get ready to become licensed and/ or certified by each regulatory entity. From mechanical systems, to ‘Standard Operating Practices’ and, if that were not enough, we have to “go back to school” to become certified in a number of knowledge requirements and skill sets. Off to SCHOOL WE GO! Adventure staycation Alberta.

The Garden, we are talking the Botanical, indoor garden. I Pj will start to learn about the Indoor garden, its care and maintenance requirements. On the first visit this past week, an inventory of plants was created and based on the plants requirements a watering and fertilizer schedule is being established. Personally I am looking forward to being able to be a part of the Garden, I do have a desire to provide my Green Thumb, some experience! I am looking forward to the experience.

The documentation required to meet all of the regulatory requirements is coming together, we have researched and collected, I would say the most important information. We now have to translate the information into a Standard Operating Procedure Manual. This is what we do and we are looking forward to creating the guide

Places to come from & Places to Go ExpEriences

Springbank Airport

Springbank Airport is the most significant general aviation airport in the Calgary region, and is the only other certified aerodrome within the region besides Calgary International Airport. Consequently, YBW plays an important role within the area’s system of airports, and as part of our important national network of airports

Calgary International Airport

Calgary International Airport (IATA: YYC, ICAO: CYYC), branded as YYC Calgary International Airport, is an international airport that serves the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately 17 kilometres (11 mi) northeast of downtown and covers an area of 20.82 square kilometres (8.04 sq mi; 5,144 acres; 2,082 ha).[3] With 14.5 million passengers in 2022 and 124,108 aircraft movements in 2021, Calgary International is the busiest airport in Alberta and the fourth-busiest in Canada by passenger traffic.[4][5][6] This airport is served by the Calgary International Airport Emergency Response Service for aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) protection. The region’s petroleum and tourism industries (and its proximity to Banff National Park) have helped foster growth at the airport, which has nonstop flights to an array of destinations in North and Central America, Europe, and Asia. Calgary serves as the headquarters and primary hub for WestJet.
